Could you be depressed?

Everyone can feel unhappy or upset from time to time- that is a normal part of life. When you are depressed feeling low and down can persist over several weeks or months. It is not possible to ‘snap out of it’ or pull yourself together’. Mind (Mental health charity) report that in England, 1 in 6 people experience a common mental health problem such as anxiety and depression in any given week. Depression affects people in many ways and symptoms can include eating or sleeping too much or too little; pulling away from people and usual activities; having low or no energy; feeling numb or like nothing matters; feeling unusually confused, forgetful, on edge, angry, upset, worried or scared or having various aches and pains. Depression can affect your daily life, work and relationships.
